STILL NEW MEXICO

Modern life demands constant movement. Our calendars are so full and busy that we never find the time to stop and receive. Come to a full pause in New Mexico. In the state of stillness, the frenzy fades and the answers arrive.

01

STATEWIDE STANDSTILL

In hopes of spreading stillness to the masses, we ask New Mexico to enact an unprecedented law that officially establishes a statewide Standstill, one hour every other Wednesday from 1-2 pm. The state will subsidize local businesses so they, too, can experience the benefits of being still.

STILL HERE

We will push New Mexico to commission artists to create three-dimensional art installations that mimic the style of hand-carved caves found in the New Mexican desert. We will be carving during our ‘Standstill’ time slot and encourage people to stop and watch. These monoliths will live in the busiest, most bustling parts of the city, untouched by the surrounding hysteria, serving as a reminder that unaffected is better than unhinged.

04

THE DISTILLERY

For those who seek stillness, New Mexico creates The DiStillery, an experiential hotel and spa that serves to transition you from your frenzied former state to a new, old way of being; still.

To pause a world constantly on play, New Mexico creates postcards using captured moments from the disposable cameras collected at The Distillery. The analog postcards paired with limited edition stamps are an analog signal to the outside world that you’re making your own break.

STILL THANKFUL

Upon arrival, New Mexico will provide visitors with disposable film cameras to document their journey into stillness. They will return their cameras to the DiStillery Hotel at the end of their trip. In exchange for the rights to use their photos, we will develop the cameras and recreate their trip by producing a personalized thank-you package from us to you.
